A warm day, two American muscle cars and lots of horsepower. the ford mustang shelby GT500 is a top of the line American muscle car that knows how to get you places in an iconic style and a drag race monster. the gt500 has proven it self against competing american cars like the chevrolet camaro ZL1. but what happens when this 760 horsepower mustang goes against a Clive Sutton tuned mustang?

youtube channel CARWOW took this two incredibly fast and loud muscle cars to the strip to see who comes out on top.

the ford mustang Shelby GT500 has a 5.2 liter supercharged v8 engine that kicks out a whooping 760 horsepower and produces 850 newton meters of torque that drives only the rear wheels via a 7 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox with lunch control, it weighs in at 1,900 kg, MSRP of $72,900. the GT500 can go from 0-60mph in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 180mph/289kmph

On the other hand, clive sutton tuned a mustang from head to toe by adding brakes, sport suspension, sport exhaust and carbon fiber body. under the hood is a 5.0 liter v8 engine and was fitted with a super charger, in total the CS850GT puts out 850 horsepower and 900 newton meters of torque that drives the rear wheels onlu bu has a manual gear box

RACE ANALYSIS

both cars struggled off the line for traction but, the GT500 had a upper hand in the race due to the dual clucth automatic transmission whereas the CS850GT couldn't keep up with the manual gear box. This caused the CS850GT to drop behind the GT500.

the GT500 completed the standard quarter mile in 11.8 seconds while the CS850GT took 12.2 seconds

 

it was neck to neck during the rolling race but the CS850GT couldn't keep up again due to the manual transmission and lost to the GT500
